La manifestazione anti-riforma universitaria, attivata anche attraverso Facebook, è partita dalla stazione.
Davanti agli istituti superiori esposti i motivi della protesta. Percorso deciso al momento, con gli uomini della questura informati in tempo reale se girare a destra o sinistra, imboccare questa o quella strada. Anche se non memorabile per organizzazione (il tam tam di informazioni è circolato il giorno prima via Facebook), la protesta degli studenti vicentini contro il decreto Gelmini ha sortito gli effetti desiderati, a cominciare da rallentamenti e blocchi della circolazione.
MILLE IN CORTEO. Circa un migliaio i giovani che hanno ingrossato il corteo partito dalla stazione verso le nove, direzione viale Roma, viale Mazzini, corso Fogazzaro, corso Palladio, piazza Matteotti, via Giuriolo, con tappe obbligate le sedi universitarie di San Nicola e Viale Margherita dove sono stati esposti striscioni preparati per la manifestazione. "No al ddl Gelmini", "Attacchiamo i profitti, conquistiamo i diritti". Questi alcuni degli slogan scritti e scanditi dagli studenti, la maggior parte delle scuole superiori, molti di meno gli universitari che hanno scelto di protestare nelle sedi ufficiali degli atenei, in primis Padova, Venezia, Verona.
